The 2024 Nissan Altima blends performance, technology, and comfort into one affordable and stylish package.

The 2024 Nissan Altima: Where Technology Meets Comfort

Power and Performance

The Altima gets its punchy performance from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, making 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The engine is connected to a CVT automatic transmission and comes with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available across the lineup. There is an available 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine, delivering up to 248 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque.

The base engine with FWD has an EPA-rated fuel economy of 32 mpg combined (27 mpg city/39 mpg on the highway). AWD models get up to 30 mpg combined, with a lower highway rating of 36 mpg. With the VC-Turbo engine, those numbers drop to 29 mpg combined (25 mpg city/34 mpg highway). But this is a small price to pay for the increased power.

Exterior Styling

After a slight refresh for 2024, the Altima’s exterior looks stylish with a bold front grille and sleek lines. 16-inch wheels are standard, and there are options for 17-inch and 19-inch alloy wheels. Higher trim levels like the SR get unique styling cues, such as SR badging in the front and rear and a rear spoiler. There’s an optional power-sliding moonroof as well.

Cabin Space and Amenities

The Altima cabin is spacious and comfortable, with 43.8 inches of legroom in the front and 35.2 inches at the back. Cargo volume comes in at 15.4 cubic feet, and you can fold down the rear seats for more space. The base S trim is equipped with cloth seats, air conditioning, and remote keyless entry with push-button ignition.

Moving up to higher trims adds premium comforts and amenities. You can get leather-appointed seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Dual-zone automatic temperature control and rear AC vents are also available.

Entertainment and Technology

There is a choice of three infotainment systems in the Altima lineup. The base model is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen display with NissanConnect, Siri Eyes Free, and a voice assistant. You can also opt for the available 8-inch or 12.3-inch touchscreen displays with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

USB charging ports come standard, and there is an optional wireless charger. The base audio system comes with six speakers, while higher trims like the SR VC-Turbo and the SL get a nine-speaker Bose Premium system. For connectivity on the go, an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot is available.

Safety Features

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all trims. It includes automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear automatic braking, and high-beam assist. The available ProPILOT Assist enables semi-autonomous driving.
